WHO WE ARE?
Federation of Woman Entrepreneurs Associations of Nepal (FWEAN) is a non profit organization which aims at representing the collective efforts of women entrepreneurs in the economic progress of the nation and decision making at national and international levels. FWEAN is the central body of Women Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal (WEAN) which was first established in 1989 in Lalitpur. Currently, there are 70 WEAN Chapters associated with FWEAN, and the organization aims to establish subsidiary WEAN Chapters in all 77 districts of Nepal, through which FWEAN seeks to engage a significant number of self-employed women who are running Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the country.
Based in Kathmandu, FWEAN is a focal point for interaction not only with the government, but also the various national and international women’s organizations and stakeholders. The Federation ultimately seeks to redefine the perspective of women entrepreneurship – from contribution to economic growth and poverty alleviation to participation of women at all levels in the socio economic sector.
