ABOUT FWEAN:

Federation of Woman Entrepreneurs’ Associations of Nepal (FWEAN) established in 2003 is a not-for-profit organization representing the collective efforts of women entrepreneurs in the economic progress of the nation and decision-making at national and international levels. With the vision to build the nation through socio-economic empowerment of Nepali women, FWEAN promotes women entrepreneurship through advocacy, capacity enhancement, business support and networking nationally and internationally.  

As an apex body of Women Entrepreneurs’ Association of Nepal (WEAN), FWEAN currently has 61 subsidiaries WEAN Chapters and aims to gradually expand to all 77 districts in 7 provinces of Nepal. The core values that FWEAN believes in and promotes are Accountability, Ambition, Collaboration and Creativity. With a mission to inspire and empower women entrepreneurs and their businesses, FWEAN focuses on these four objectives: 

  • To advocate on issues related to women’s economic empowerment  
  • To enhance the capacity of women entrepreneurs  
  • To support businesses of women entrepreneurs 
  • To increase the outreach of FWEAN

JOB SCOPE:

The Community Facilitator /Social Mobilizer will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and engaging environment within a specific community or group. S/he will be responsible for facilitating communication, building relationships locally, promoting collaboration, and encouraging the growth and development of community members. The primary objective of Community Facilitator will be to create a supportive space where members feel valued, connected, and empowered.  

JOB SPECIFICATION:

Qualified candidates will have the following credentials: 

  • At least 1 years’ experience  
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., communications, sociology, community development) or equivalent experience. 
  • Proven experience in community building, facilitation, or related roles. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities. 
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative. 
  • Strong network in the local community 
  • Passion for fostering relationships and creating a positive impact within communities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Establish and Maintain Community:

  • Develop and implement strategies to build a vibrant and inclusive community. 
  • Identify and reach out to potential community members to participate in projects and expand the network in the long term. 
  • Organize and coordinate trainings, events, meetings, and activities. 
  • Follow up, record data and photos and be the primary point of contact 

 2. Facilitate Communication and Engagement:

  • Foster open dialogue and constructive discussions within the community. 
  • Encourage active participation and collaboration among members. 
  • Mediate conflicts and promote resolution through effective communication.

 3.Provide Support and Guidance:

  • Act as a point of contact for community members, addressing their questions and concerns. 
  • Offer guidance and resources to help members achieve their goals. 
  • Identify opportunities for skill development and learning within the community.

 4. Promote Collaboration and Networking:

  • Facilitate connections and collaborations among community members, local government as well as other stakeholders. 
  • Encourage the sharing of knowledge, resources, and best practices. 
  • Identify and promote partnerships with relevant organizations and stakeholders. 

 5. Monitor and Evaluate Community Performance:

  • Track community metrics, such as engagement levels and member satisfaction. 
  • Gather feedback from community members to assess their needs and expectations. 
  • Regularly report on community progress and provide recommendations for improvement.
