ABOUT FWEAN:

Federation of Woman Entrepreneurs’ Associations of Nepal (FWEAN) established in 2003 is a not-for-profit organization representing the collective efforts of women entrepreneurs in the economic progress of the nation and decision-making at national and international levels. With the vision to build the nation through socio-economic empowerment of Nepali women, FWEAN promotes women entrepreneurship through advocacy, capacity enhancement, business support and networking nationally and internationally.  

As an apex body of Women Entrepreneurs’ Association of Nepal (WEAN), FWEAN currently has 61 subsidiaries WEAN Chapters and aims to gradually expand to all 77 districts in 7 provinces of Nepal. JOB SCOPE: 

FWEAN is seeking a highly motivated Communications Intern. The Communications Intern will be responsible for supporting the communications team in various aspects of internal and external communication activities. The Communications Intern will assist with creating and distributing content, managing social media platforms, coordinating events, conducting research, and supporting overall communication strategies. 

JOB SPECIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field 
  • At least 1 year of experience in communication field (Recent graduate can apply too) 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English & Nepali, with attention to detail. 
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and experience in managing social media accounts. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Canva, IT skills 
  • Basic knowledge of communication principles and practices. 
  • Knowledge of report writing 
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist in writing, editing, and proofreading content for various communication channels such as annual magazine, blog posts, press releases, website and internal announcements.  
  • Collaborate with team members to develop engaging and informative content that aligns with the organization’s objectives. 
  • Assist in the distribution of communication materials through various channels, including email, social media, and internet platforms. 
  • Help manage and monitor social media accounts, including content scheduling, engagement tracking, and responding to inquiries or comments. 
  • Research and identify relevant content, trends, and opportunities for social media posts. 
  • Provide general administrative support to the communications team, including scheduling meetings, organizing files, and maintaining communication databases. 
  • Assist with monitoring and tracking media coverage, press mentions, and industry news. 
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and team meetings to generate creative ideas and solutions.
