The year 2020 was filled with lot of stress, anxiety and chaos created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Including the global public health challenge, we have had to deal with its devastating effect at the socio- economic level. Women entrepreneurs had to and still are battling to manage their businesses that were closed down for a long time.

Still amidst the pandemic and uncertainties, FWEAN (Federation of Woman Entrepreneurs’ Associations of Nepal) continued to empower women entrepreneurs through various online support and trainings to recover, revive and strengthen their gravely impacted businesses.

In 2021 we move ahead with many hopes and aspirations, with FWEAN striving to revive, strengthen and restore the faith and confidence of existing women entrepreneurs and creating new ones, mainly those that lost their livelihood due to the pandemic.

Eighteen years has groomed FWEAN to what it is today and it stays true to its ambition. To all the women entrepreneurs and those who are aspiring, I would like to affirm that each one of us are the game changers, playing our part in creating employment, contributing to the economy and alleviating poverty.

Our strategy this year too will focus on strengthening the District WEAN Chapters through various trainings. We will also encourage the women entrepreneurs to use the locally available resources and create a “Brand” for the national and International markets. Market linkages too remains our priority.

Every woman’s success should be an inspiration to another. We are strongest when we cheer each other on. Hence, against all the odds, let us all motivate and inspire each other and be driven and enthused.
